THE HUUS GSTAAD
Staying at HUUS Gstaad with my family felt warm, relaxed, and wonderfully unpretentious—like arriving at a place that was designed for slowing down together. With my husband and our two children, aged seven and four, the experience was less about formality and more about comfort, space, and those small shared moments that turn into lasting memories.
Set slightly above the village, surrounded by forests and open mountain views, HUUS has a cozy, chalet-style atmosphere that immediately feels welcoming. The design blends rustic wood with soft, modern touches, creating spaces that are both stylish and incredibly livable—especially with children. Nothing felt too delicate or too formal; instead, it was a place where the kids could feel at ease just as much as we did.
The rhythm of the days naturally adapted to family life. Mornings started slowly, with breakfast that somehow pleased everyone—fresh bread, local cheeses, and simple options for the kids. Afterward, we would head outside, where the mountains became our playground. Whether it was short walks, spotting animals, or simply letting the kids run freely in the fresh Alpine air, everything felt easy and unstructured.
What stood out most was how effortlessly family-friendly the hotel was without losing its sense of style. There were thoughtful details everywhere—from spaces where the children could play to relaxed dining where no one minded a bit of noise or laughter. It allowed us, as parents, to truly unwind while knowing the kids were just as happy and comfortable.
In the evenings, after full days outdoors, everything slowed again. The children, tired in the best way, would wind down quickly, while we enjoyed the quiet calm of the mountains settling in for the night. There was something deeply comforting about those moments—simple, peaceful, and shared.
Staying at HUUS Gstaad as a family wasn’t about grandeur or formality; it was about togetherness, ease, and the kind of Alpine escape that feels both grounding and joyful at the same time.
